Upper case B followed by 0 (zero), upper case M followed by 0 (zero), or upper case X followed by 0 (zero).

*1. Permissible values for MDS data records are:
a) B0 (B-zero) for a new data record being submitted to the State database;
b) M0 (M-zero) for a request to modify a record previously accepted into the
State database;
c) X0 (X-zero) for a request to inactivate a record previously accepted into
the State database.

*2. REC_ID must be B0 if AT2 is blank, M0 if AT2 = 1, or X0 if AT2 = 2.

(Note: Values of A0 (A-zero) and Z0 (Z-zero) are used to identify header and trailer records in an MDS file submitted from the nursing home to the state.)
